Hello,
And welcome to my official corner of the internet!
I’m David C. Stevens, a passionate storyteller who believes that every book is a doorway to another world. Writing has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, but it wasn’t until recently that I decided to take the leap and bring my stories into the hands of readers.
I’ve always been fascinated by the way stories can transport us — taking us from the everyday to the extraordinary. It’s that passion that drives my writing: crafting characters you’ll root for, challenges you’ll fear, and victories you’ll celebrate.
My debut work, Beyond Sight – The Staff of Aegus, is the beginning of an exciting journey I’m incredibly proud to share. With each book, my goal is simple — to share stories that stay with you long after you’ve turned the final page.
Writing unfortunately comes second to my main work within the equestrian sector, but every spare moment finds me lost in creating new worlds, new adventures, and new characters for readers to discover.
I created this website as a place to share updates, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and maybe even a few surprises along the way.
Feel free to explore the site, check out my latest work, and join me as I continue to share new worlds, one story at a time.
Thank you for stopping by — I’m thrilled to have you along for the ride.
Let’s turn the pages together.
A note on the creation of this book:
Writing this story has been a dream of mine for many years, stretching back over fifteen to eighteen years. Although the ideas, characters, and world had long lived in my imagination, bringing them together into a complete, finished work proved a considerable challenge. For a long time, the project remained unfinished, tucked away in the back of my mind.
When I became aware of large language models (LLMs) and AI technologies, I saw an opportunity—not for someone, or something, to write it for me, but to seek assistance in expressing and structuring the story that had always been in my heart.
AI served purely as a tool, much like choosing to use a power drill instead of a manual screwdriver. Even with a drill, the work does not complete itself: one must pick it up, select the correct bit, prepare the battery or ensure it is plugged in, adjust the settings, and guide it with skill and intent. Simply owning a drill does not drive in a single screw; the tool merely makes the task more efficient once the human effort is applied. In much the same way, every idea, every decision, and every direction remained my own. AI simply helped me express what I already knew I wanted to create. While I openly acknowledge the assistance I received, this book remains entirely the product of my imagination, determination, and creative effort.
